The OpportunityWe are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales and Business Development to lead our growth strategy across Canada. This is a unique “player-coach” role: you will lead and inspire a high-performing sales and marketing team while also rolling up your sleeves to personally drive new business, close high-value deals, and expand DMC’s national footprint.
Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, this role is ideal for an entrepreneurial sales leader who thrives on strategy, execution, and making a measurable impact.
To be successful in this role, the Director must be able to regularly travel to, and spend dedicated time at, DMC’s head office in Mount Pearl, NL or our regional office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Therefore, preference will be given to candidates living in or close to these areas.
This connection to our head office and leadership team is essential to understanding our business, culture, and clients.
Key Responsibilities• Market Expansion: Grow DMC’s presence throughout Canada while enhancing its strong reputation in Atlantic Canada.
• Direct Sales Execution: Personally manage and close high-value opportunities, building trusted relationships with executives and decision-makers, and contributing directly to revenue growth.
• Quota Accountability: Carry an individual sales target in addition to team goals, ensuring accountability for both personal and organizational results.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and coach sales and marketing staff to ensure team success in selling value and differentiating DMC’s offerings.
• Marketing & Branding: Collaborate with the Manager of Marketing to develop and implement effective strategies that drive lead generation and brand visibility.
• Strategic Planning: Lead the creation of the sales and marketing plan, aligning with DMC’s 3-year strategic plan and setting clear objectives and timelines.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain a healthy personal and team pipeline by actively prospecting, qualifying, and nurturing opportunities, while delivering regular performance reports.
• Proposal Development: Lead and oversee the development of proposals, RFP responses, and presentations, ensuring DMC’s value proposition is compelling and client-focused.
• Customer Experience: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional client experiences that support retention and referrals.
• Strategic Partnerships: Identify, develop, and negotiate partnerships that support long-term growth and market access.
• Leadership Contributions: Provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform DMC’s senior leadership team.
QualificationsTo succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will bring:
• Master’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of six years in leadership roles in sales, marketing, or business development within a knowledge-based service industry.
• Proven success in driving growth and executing effective sales and marketing strategies in a service-based environment.
• Experience in sales, branding, marketing, and business development, with preference for candidates with background in disability management, healthcare, or workplace compensation.
• Experience working in entrepreneurial, founder-led environments, building teams with a “people first” leadership style.
• Track record in implementing and utilizing CRM systems to enhance sales processes, reporting, and efficiency.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver results.
• Collaborative, integrity-based team player with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Flexibility and commitment to attend industry events and client meetings.
• Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, and personally close new business opportunities with consistent sales performance.
• Executive presence and confidence in presenting to and negotiating with C-suite leaders.
• A results-oriented mindset with resilience and self-motivation, able to balance strategic planning and hands-on selling.

Due to our ongoing national growth and expanding business lines, we have an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Disability Manager in our New Brunswick region. In this role, you will be responsible for managing disability claims (both occupational and non-occupational) to resolution. As the ideal candidate, you are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both as part of a team and on your own. You have an analytical mind, are well organized and have excellent communication skills. As a strategic thinker, you commonly use approaches that are “outside the box” to assist clients with workplace absences.
Your responsibilities will include:• Developing strong relationships with clients across Canada
• Developing and maintaining case management plans that are outcome focused to help injured or ill employees return to work
• Using a collaborative approach with employers, health care providers and employees to create action plans to safely return absent employees to work
• Identifying and assessing medical and non-medical factors
• Reviewing and assessing medical, functional and occupational information
• Identifying and mitigating barriers to the Return to Work plan
Job Requirements:• Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Occupational Health Nursing considered an asset
• Disability Case Management experience would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency in English and French
• A bachelor’s degree
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of insurance systems and workers’ compensation legislation
• Excellent analytical, communication and letter writing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills

• 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, brand management, or execution-focused marketing roles.
